Absolutely! Sharing past wedding stories from Larkspur Lodge is one of our favourite things to do. Let’s start with Nicholas and Ross, who had a stunning autumn wedding. Due to the pandemic, their story is one of resilience and intimacy, as they had to make the difficult decision to have only 20 guests in attendance. But that didn’t stop them - and what a magical wedding it was!

Complete with twinkling fairy lights, the intimate setting of our beautiful ceremony room created a truly dreamy atmosphere, making their big day even more meaningful. Being a professional dancer, Nicholas had always wanted to have a romantic first dance with his partner, and our Cheshire wedding barn was the perfect backdrop for his dream to come true. Their first dance was a magical moment of pure joy and connection between the two, and we’re sure it’ll be a memory that the pair will cherish forever. 

One of our favourite parts about this day was the amount of personal touches that were included in their wedding story. A particularly special moment was when Nicholas, a published author, surprised his guests with a copy of his book, "The Bears," a touching chronicle of their love story. It’s thoughtful gestures like these that can really make your wedding story one to remember. Nicholas and Ross’ day was just one example of the many heartwarming wedding stories Larkspur Lodge has witnessed.

Their celebration at our Cheshire wedding venue was, in our opinion, the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance. This was another intimate wedding, as the couple chose to hold their ceremony in our main room, surrounded by 50 of their nearest and dearest. 

Having an intimate setting like this allowed for a warm and personal atmosphere that the guests loved. This was especially true when Lauren and Joshua decided to add a game of Mr & Mrs after the speeches to really engage their guests and get them answering questions about their relationship. 

Throughout the day, the beautiful Cheshire countryside provided a stunning backdrop for their photographs, with the sage green colour scheme complementing our unique barn setting perfectly. The couple enjoyed their first dance against the ambient backdrop of our rustic red brick walls and soft lighting, kicking off an evening of celebrations with a carefully curated playlist that got everyone on their feet! 

Once the celebrations came to an end, the couple opted for a sparkler send-off as their grand finale. Unique, special and full of personality, Lauren and Joshua’s wedding showcased the versatility of weddings at Larkspur Lodge, demonstrating how our venue can be tailored to create a unique and personal experience.

What are the highlights and unique features of weddings held at Larkspur Lodge?

The highlight of Larkspur Lodge’s real weddings is without a doubt the personalisation options. We love seeing our couples put their own take on our venue through decor, entertainment and food choices. 

Danielle and Doug’s was a perfect example of this, as the couple chose to hold their ceremony in a tipi on our lawn, which proved to be the perfect setting for their summer wedding. But, the highlights didn’t stop there - the pair also opted for their all-time favourite dish of sausage, mash and gravy as their wedding breakfast, and later served artisan pizzas in the evening sun. 

Much like many weddings over the past few years, the couple’s big day was delayed due to the pandemic. But, things worked out better than they could’ve dreamed of, as this meant that their new arrival, their little boy Jude, was able to be a part of their wedding as their page boy. Danielle and Doug’s wedding was certainly one to remember, showing the flexibility and charm of our venue and highlighting how we can adapt to different styles to suit you.

Looking for some inspiration for your wedding decor style? Rebecca and Rory opted to combine black tie glamour with a country chic theme, full of pops of colour and stunning wildflowers. The rustic charm of Larkspur Lodge worked perfectly with the couple’s vision, and their attention to detail was clear in every aspect of their wedding, from the beautiful floral arrangements, to the delicious food and lively music. Claire and Samuel's summer wedding really shows the adaptability of our venue. Claire, a keen horse rider, wanted to include her beloved horse Piglet, as part of their special day. And how could we refuse?! Piglet, wearing an adorable flower sash, joined the pair for their drinks reception and for photographs. Claire even rode Piglet through the grounds of our venue, creating stunning photographs that will be treasured for years to come.
