On Saturday 28th October 2023, Lucy and Jessica celebrated their wedding at Larkspur Lodge, surrounded by friends and family. Their day moved from a carefully planned ceremony through to an evening of music and celebration, with each part of their day flowing smoothly.

Morning Preparations And Arrivals

Lucy and Jessica both spent the morning getting ready at Cottons Hotel before making their way to the Lodge. From 1pm, principal wedding guests began to arrive, gathering in the bar area ahead of the ceremony and taking time to greet one another before the day officially began.

At 1:30pm, guests were welcomed through the porch doors and invited directly into the Ceremony Room, where they were seated ready for the ceremony. Jess arrived at 1:35pm and made her way to the bridal preparation room with her bridesmaids. Shortly after, at 1:50pm, Lucy arrived with her bridal party and waited in the corridor ahead of her entrance, with Jess being collected from the preparation room at 1:55pm.

A Ceremony With Two Entrances

The civil ceremony began at 2pm, creating a meaningful moment for both brides as they made their entrances.

Lucy was the first to walk down the aisle, accompanied by her father Gerard and followed by her three bridesmaids Becky, Sophia and Enola. Jess followed, escorted by her father Rich and joined by her four bridesmaids Manda, Katie, Emma and Steph. Reserved seating ensured that immediate family and the bridal party were seated together for the ceremony.

Music played an important role throughout, with a dedicated playlist selected by the brides. Lucy entered to “God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys, whilst Jess walked down the aisle to “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King. During the signing of the register, guests listened to “Are You Ready For Love?”, “Love on Top” and “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)”. The ceremony concluded with “For Once In My Life” as the couple exited together.

The ceremony room featured beautiful aisle décor provided by Knutsford Bloom, along with seven rows of white cross back chairs and the stunning Edison light bar, creating a coordinated setting for the ceremony.

Drinks And Photographs

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a drinks reception lasting around an hour and a half. A playlist chosen by Lucy and Jess played throughout this part of the day, whilst photographer Rachel Joyce captured heartfelt moments from the drinks reception and time spent with their guests.

Lucy, Jess and their guests then went onto the lawn for their confetti photograph. This moment brought guests together outside, before everyone returned inside to continue the celebrations.

A Lively Wedding Breakfast

At 4pm, guests were invited to take their seats for the wedding breakfast. Once seated, Lucy and Jess were announced into the room as the new Mrs and Mrs Kennedy-Plant, entering to “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire, and the cheers of their family and friends.

From 4:15pm, the team at Fork & Field served the wedding breakfast. The room layout included long tables and white linen napkins, with décor and centrepieces provided by the brides. A neon sign added an additional feature within the space, and their playlist continued to play during the meal.

Speeches And Celebrations

At 6:15pm, speeches began, with Larkspur Lodge introducing the first speakers. Gerard and Rich, the proud fathers of the brides, spoke first, followed by bridesmaid Sophia and then Lucy. Each speaker introduced the next, allowing the speeches to flow in sequence.

At 6:45pm, guests were invited back into the bar area while the team prepared the room for the evening reception, giving time for a smooth transition between day and night.

Evening Celebrations Begin

Evening guests began arriving from 7:30pm. DJ Nick Campbell provided the evening entertainment from this point, with music continuing throughout the night from the alcove area in the main room.

The wedding breakfast room was reset with additional tables dressed in white linen, ready for the evening. The wedding cake had been displayed earlier in the day on the dresser by the mothers of the brides, and was later served alongside evening food rather than being formally announced.

At 8pm, Lucy and Jessica shared their first dance, marking the start of the evening celebrations.

A Full Day Of Celebration

As day turned to evening, the celebration kept its momentum, the energy shifting seamlessly into the night. With a lively bar and the DJ spinning tracks late into the evening, the party carried on in full swing.

When things began to wind down, last orders were called, and the music gently eased to a close just before midnight. From 12:30am, carriages started to arrive, marking the end of a truly memorable day.

Jess and Lucy’s wedding at Larkspur Lodge brought together family, friends, and thoughtfully planned details at every stage, creating a seamless celebration that flowed effortlessly from the ceremony right through to the evening festivities.
