On Saturday 24th August 2024, we welcomed Torz and James to Larkspur Lodge for a day that felt effortlessly relaxed, full of music and surrounded by the people who mattered most to them. From the moment guests arrived to the final moments on the dancefloor, their wedding carried a sense of ease and celebration that unfolded naturally throughout the day.
A morning beyond the Lodge
Torz and James chose to start their day at De Vere, Cranage, before joining us for their celebrations. When James arrived at Larkspur Lodge, he spent time in the bar area with his best man and close family, easing into the day as guests began to gather.
There’s always something special about this part of the morning. The Lodge slowly comes to life, conversations begin, and the energy builds quietly in the background as everyone anticipates what’s to come.
A lively welcome
Guests were welcomed through the side entrance into the bar and lounge, where drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was already warm and sociable. As we prepared to begin the ceremony, we guided guests through to the ceremony room, where the space had been softly styled with candlelight from our Lit With Love package and delicate fairy lights for the aisle provided by Hipswing.
The room felt intimate and inviting, with rows of white cross-back chairs creating a clear aisle for Torz’s entrance.

A ceremony filled with music and meaning
Torz was escorted down the aisle by her brother, Chris, accompanied by her six bridesmaids. The ceremony was set to a carefully chosen playlist, beginning with a piano version of Can’t Help Falling in Love, creating a gentle and emotional start.
Throughout the ceremony, music continued to play an important role, with meaningful songs chosen for each moment of the signing, before the couple exited together to a joyful acoustic version of There She Goes.
With close family seated at the front and every detail thoughtfully arranged, the ceremony felt personal and full of warmth, marking the beginning of Torz and James’ next chapter together.
An afternoon that flowed naturally
Following the ceremony, guests moved onto the terrace to spend some time in the summer sunshine. Live music from David at You Say, We Play created a relaxed and uplifting atmosphere.
The drinks reception gave everyone time to truly settle into the day. Guests mingled, enjoyed the music and made the most of the indoor and outdoor spaces, while Torz and James stepped away for photographs with Daisy Bell Photography, capturing both candid moments and relaxed portraits.

A warm and welcoming wedding breakfast
When it was time to continue the celebrations, we invited guests into the Lodge Room for the wedding breakfast. The space had been styled with a long top table and rounds, with log slices and glass cylinder vases creating a natural, understated look that suited the couple perfectly.
As Torz and James made their entrance as newlyweds, the room filled with cheers and applause, setting the tone for the next part of the day.
The wedding breakfast was served by Fork and Field, accompanied by live music continuing softly in the background. The atmosphere remained relaxed and sociable, with guests enjoying great food, conversation and the steady rhythm of the day.
Speeches with heart and humour
Speeches followed, introduced and guided by our team to keep everything flowing smoothly. Torz and James had chosen a wonderful mix of speakers, beginning with Chris and Janine, followed by Torz herself, then James, and finally the best man.
There was a lovely balance of humour and sentiment throughout, with moments of laughter sitting alongside more heartfelt reflections. It’s always a special part of the day, and for Torz and James, it brought everyone together in a shared sense of celebration.
A seamless shift into the evening
As the afternoon came to a close, we invited guests back into the bar area while we transformed the Lodge Room for the evening reception. With no additional evening guests joining, the celebration kept its intimate feel, allowing the same group to carry the energy through into the night.
The addition of a selfie booth added a playful element to the evening, giving guests a chance to capture fun, spontaneous moments throughout the celebrations.
An evening of music and celebration
Music played a central role in Torz and James’ wedding, and the evening was no exception. The full band from You Say, We Play took to the stage, delivering two lively sets that quickly filled the dancefloor.
Their first dance was announced by the band, creating a moment that felt both intimate and full of anticipation as guests gathered around before quickly joining them on the dancefloor.
From there, the evening unfolded into a lively and energetic celebration. With music, laughter and a full dancefloor, the atmosphere built steadily, creating the kind of party that carries effortlessly from one moment to the next.
A relaxed and joyful ending
As the night drew to a close, the celebrations naturally softened, with music gradually winding down and guests beginning to make their way home. By the time carriages arrived, Torz and James’ wedding had come full circle, from a calm morning build-up to a joyful and memorable evening.
It was a pleasure for our team to host their day at Larkspur Lodge, helping to guide each part of the celebration while allowing their personalities and choices to shape the experience throughout.
